Integrative Veterinary Medicine
At the Integrative Veterinary Medicine Clinic we
strive to integrate the ancient wisdom, art and science of
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with the most up to date
science of Western Veterinary Medicine (WVM). We utilize a
holistic viewpoint to assess the entire mind and body of the
animal. To accomplish that mission we need to assess the past
history. That history might include any prior physical
examination findings, blood tests, x-rays, MRI and/or CAT scans
that might show us how your animal arrived at this
point. We also need to perform a full examination, both
from a WVM and a TCM viewpoint.
Next, we need to make a plan for that animal’s care. That might
include additional testing, herbs, acupuncture, chiropractic
adjustments, supplements, and/or diet changes. Our goal is
to support that animal’s weakened organ systems, and/or to
prevent the deterioration of certain organ systems as the
animal undergoes needed therapies.
We do not intend to be your animal’s ONLY veterinary care
provider. We want to be part of your animal’s
Veterinary Care Team.
That Team would consist of, first,
YOU, then a primary care
veterinarian, then perhaps an oncologist, perhaps an internal
medicine specialist, perhaps a surgeon, perhaps a
rehabilitation specialist, and
US.
Our job is two-fold: First,
to support the body’s own organs, stimulate its own resources,
and keep it strong while it must undergo tough treatments, and,
Second, to help provide a
better quality of life for a longer period of time.
